West Groton Water Supply District was formed in 1911. It was financed by local families who secured a bond to start their own water district. Today West Groton Water Supply District services and supplies clean, safe drinking water to over 650 homes & businesses in the district.

NOTICE TO ALL
RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS:
Mandatory Water Restriction in effect.
ALL NON-ESSENTIAL OUTDOOR WATER USE IS PROHIBITED.
(This does not apply to home vegetable gardens, commercial agriculture and livestock. Also exempt is water used for the core function of a business.)
The Northeast Region of Massachusetts is experiencing a Level 3 Critical Drought. Per MassDEP requirements, all non-essential outdoor water uses are prohibited, including, but not limited to:
- Irrigation of lawns via sprinklers, hoses or automatic irrigation systems;
- Washing of vehicles, except in a commercial car wash or as necessary for operator safety;
- Washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks, except as necessary to apply surface treatments such as paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement or cement;
- Filling swimming pools
Level 3 Critical Drought restrictions supersede the District's mandatory 2-day per week watering restriction.
Enforcement: The District will be actively monitoring compliance. Violations may result in warnings, fines, or other penalties.
